Hondurans die as gunman targets shoe factory
    The UK News
    Wednesday 8th September, 2010

Police in Honduras have said they don’t know who shot down victims inside a shoe factory.

There is no motive in the shooting in which eighteen people died and several others were wounded, according to officers who attended after the incident.

The shooting occurred inside the factory in San Pedro Sula in northern Honduras, where most of the workers were in their teens.

The incident began when two men carrying AK-47 assault rifles burst into the factory and began shooting.

Police later arrived, only to find bodies strewn all over the factory floor in the 2,000-square-foot building, which is located in a suburb in southeast San Pedro Sula, the industrial capital of Honduras.

The notorious Mara 18, a ruthless street gang, is known to be active in the area.
