Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has warned his team to beware AC Milan charge or be haunted by the ghost of Clarence Seedorf forever.

This Champions League last-16 tie was dead and buried with Manchester United leading 3-1 in the San Siro with just five minutes left. But substitute Seedorf resurrected his team with just five minutes left and breathed new life into the encounter.

The United manager believes AC Milan comes to Old Trafford tonight filled with belief they can knock the English champions out of this competition for a fifth time and make it to the quarterfinals, The Sun reports.

Ferguson said: "I can understand Milan feeling confident. They got that second goal towards the end and that will give them encouragement. We would have preferred not to have lost a goal because otherwise the tie would have been very difficult for Milan."

"We played very well once we had recovered from the opening and we maybe should have killed the tie completely. But goals change games and Seedorf's effort near the end keeps the match on a tightrope," he said.

Ferguson believes a packed Old Trafford and watching world will be thrilled by an open attacking game.

Milan have made no secret of their plans to come at United with an all-out attack, as they did in the San Siro where they took the lead after three minutes and could have had three more.

"I don't think we are very good at defending leads to be honest with you. The demands of the game include attacking and always have. We will try to do it in our normal way. I don't think we should be confused by leading 3-2. It does not represent a bye into the quarterfinals," Ferguson said. (ANI)
