Pietersen to groundsmen: Prepare good Test pitches or risk killing the game

England batsman Kevin Pietersen has asked groundsmen to prepare good Test pitches or risk killing the game.
England's hard-fought first Test win over Bangladesh on a flat slow track in Chittagong was in stark contrast to the excitement of Twenty20 cricket.
"I love Test match cricket. But as a cricket lover, a pitch like the one in the First Test is no good. If we'd been playing India on that it would have been 700 plays 100-1," Pietersen said.
"I want Test match cricket to survive for as long as possible because it is a real test and it toughens people up. But if Test cricket is to remain the No 1 game then groundsmen have a huge part to play," The Sun quoted him, as saying.
England go into Saturday's second Test hunting a 2-0 series victory, which would see stand-in skipper Alastair Cook secure a 100 per cent record on tour.
"We must grind it out to get a good victory for Cookie. But Stuart Broad is doubtful after going down with a stomach complaint," Pietersen said. (ANI)
