Simon Cowell's brother Nicholas has blamed the TV magnate for making people in Britain want instant fame and fortune.

The 50-year-old sibling claimed that shows such as 'X Factor' made people lazy.

"Partly due to my brother, everyone wants to get rich quick," the Daily Star quoted the younger Cowell as saying.

Telly judge Simon, 52, started working in the mailroom of a music company as a teen and is now thought to have built up a 200-million-pound fortune.

"The world is a different place from when we were growing up," he said.

"There was never this thought that you had to be successful or make millions of pounds to be happy.

"Simon works hard. I don't think you should be given anything.

"If you want something you should have to work for it.

"As kids we were comfortably off but we weren't just handed out money for anything.

"Simon's achievement is unbelievable. And, you know, good for him," he added. (ANI)
